Here are your ingredients for this glass cleaner recipe:
  • 1 c White Vinegar
  • 1 c Water
  • 10-15 drops Essential Oil
  • Spray Bottle
  • Finding Your Ingredients:

    White Vinegar
Buy a larger bottle or gallon. White vinegar has many practical cleaning uses.

    Water
You'll see me using my electric tea kettle in the video, but your water does not need to be hot to make this recipe.

    Essential Oil
This is optional, but if you do not like the strong smell of vinegar, a lemon essential oil will go a long way towards masking it. I’m using Lemon Eucalyptus here.

    Spray Bottle
You can use a recycled spray bottle or buy an inexpensive one in the cleaning aisle at Walmart for about a dollar.

    Make Window Cleaner

How to make glass cleaner: in a mixing bowl, combine the water and vinegar. If you have a smaller spray bottle, you may want to reduce your ingredients to ¾ cup, or even half a cup. Add in your essential oil. Stir. That’s it!

Use a funnel to pour your glass cleaner into spray bottle. Some moms swear by using old newspaper for cleaning your windows, but I’ve personally never seen the point. To me, a rag made out of old bath towels does the trick just as well.

I really like the fact that with this recipe, I don’t have to feel worried about cleaning my bathroom mirrors when I’m pregnant, or having the kids do some cleaning chores. I always worried about the chemicals in household cleaners before.

    Other Window Cleaner Recipes

There are many different window cleaner recipes, not just the one I use! Here are some variations you can try at home. Simply mix the following ingredients together and put into a spray bottle as needed. (Make sure you shake well.)
