Start on eBayLearn How to Start Selling on eBayStart on eBay. Everyone has heard of eBay. You probably have a friend or relative that sells items on eBay, either occasionally, or as a business. And I'm sure you know that it is a great resource to sell extra items you don't need in your home, and to make a little money. Personally, I think eBay should be the backbone of every SAHM's supplemental income. You don't have to start up an eBay store, but if you gain a little experience with eBay, you can consistently list your children's outgrown clothes, or other unneeded items to help your budget. Set Up Your AccountIf you haven't already set up an eBay account, you need to go do it right now to start on eBay.Do not be alarmed about putting in your credit card or banking information for account verification. You can trust eBay. Sign up and get started! Bid on an item or two to get the hang of it. Paypal Next,
you will want to set up your PayPal
Account.
In order to buy and sell on eBay, it is pretty much mandatory that you accept PayPal. It used to be that most sellers would accept money orders, but times have changed. Now, nearly all sellers prefer the convenience and safety of PayPal. There are fees involved with taking payment via Paypal, but sellers who do not accept Paypal have significantly lower sales. You will need the premier account, not the standard one. Once you set it up, it is so easy. Buyers usually pay for their items immediately, the money is instantly in your PayPal account, and you can even print postage from USPS right off your computer using PayPal. You need to do this to start on eBay. When you want the money that is in your PayPal account, you can have it direct deposited into your checking account for free. This is usually a quick process, they say it takes 3-4 business days, but for me anyway, it usually takes about two. You can also apply for the PayPal debit card, where they send you a MasterCard logo debit card and you can use the funds instantly from your account. You will need to register a checking account with PayPal. This is safe. Gather SuppliesNext, to start on eBay, you will need to gather supplies. Unless you plan to use dropshipper, you will need the following supplies:
You
will need a printer to print your packaging slips
and you may want to print your postage. A good digital camera is a must to take photos of your items. You'll want a postage scale if you plan to list more than a few items so that you know how much shipping to charge customers. Packaging materials like bubble wrap, packaging tape, and boxes are also needed. It is a good idea to start on eBay to get these supplies. Why?

Shipping on eBayMost sellers choose to ship their eBay items via USPS Priority Mail. Why? Because the supplies are free! All your Priority Mail supplies can be ordered for free through USPS. They will be delivered to your home. You will need to sign up for an account with them. I would suggest you start on eBay with the following sizes of boxes:
These are just a few types of boxes to start with at a bare minimum. You will be able to order other sizes as you need them. Get at least 100 of the Tyveks. They are great because you can cut them up and tape them creatively over other packages to ship odd sizes via Priority Mail. Now that you have your supplies, its time to get ready to list! Listing on eBayThe first things you should list on eBay should be low value items that are cluttering your house. This allows you to gain experience, build feedback, and get your house clean at the same time!Look for:
Gather these things and get ready to list! The following links will show you more about listing and selling items on eBay. Each link has more detailed information about each specific subject than what was listed here. Enjoy! What
