Preschool ProgramAdd Preschool to Your Home Daycare CenterIf you are considering doing preschool with your own child, and like the idea of home daycare, starting an actual preschool program for other children might be an option. You can do preschool in your daycare in many different ways: --Offer a pre-school program to those in your care old enough --Offer daycare only to preschool aged children --Offer part-time preschool classes to preschool aged children 2-3 times per week Whichever way you decide to do it, it will be tons of fun! Pre-school programs are generally made up of the following activities: --Educational Instruction --Arts and Crafts --Songs and Games --Snacks --Educational Play Educational Instruction
When instructing preschoolers, educational instruction does not need to be formal, or intensive. Most instruction should revolve around recognizing letters, colors, numbers, and shapes. Busy work would amount to coloring. The most important thing for the preschoolers is to have fun. The following are preschool curriculum and instruction resources: --Preschool Genius Learning Package Though their website will win no awards in my book, this is actually a great preschool curriculum package. It comes with computer games, MP3 songs, and print outs. --Click N Kids This is a reading and phonics program that gives visual, game-type interaction to help kids learn to read. If you are looking for a video phonics program, this program is used in schools across the country. --ABC Fun and 1-2-3 A great, inexpensive, 26-week preschool curriculum designed to organize and give you a step by step guide to preschool lessons. Check out the FREE printables on her site. --Fun Lesson Plans Great site with free lessons as well as lessons available for purchase. --Enchanted Learning Wonderful site full of valuable free printables, with more resources available to those who choose to pay an annual fee. --Ed Helper Good resource site for all grade levels, with printables and other resources. Annual fee applies. Arts and Crafts
