Political Toothpicks

I tell you, kids are like little sponges. They pick up a lot of information, more than they get credit for.

During the early part of the 2008 presidential election, we were out to lunch one day when my 6 year old daughter started playing with the huge toothpicks they put in sandwiches at restaurants to keep them together.

I noticed they were "talking" to each other and asked her what they were saying. She told me they were arguing. So I asked her what about.

"Well," she said, "this blue one is Hilary and this blue one is Obama and the red one is McCain. They all want to be president."

Now, I know my kids are smart, but I was dumbfounded! She even got the political COLORS right!
