Paypal AccountDoing Business Online? Why is it important to have a PayPal account? I’m going to say something that will probably make your mother cringe: Because everybody else is doing it! Pay Pal is a necessary tool in the online community. It doesn’t matter if you are selling on eBay or if you are a Direct Sales consultant, you need a Pay Pal account. What is Pay Pal?
Pay Pal is an online merchant. It allows you to transfer money to anyone else in the world (practically) via their email account. When you have money in your Pay Pal account, you can either spend it through other merchants, have it sent to your checking account, or use their MasterCard Debit to use funds right out of your Pay Pal account. I think they even have a savings account that pays interest now. There are never any fees for using Pay Pal as a buyer, only as a seller. Meaning, they won’t charge you to give money to someone else, but they will charge you to accept money. PayPal offers three types of accounts: The Personal Account This account allows you to buy things online. It is totally free, without any fees, ever. You can also accept payments for free from other users, as long as they are paying from a balance transfer. This balance transfer can be from their checking account, or their Pay Pal account. The Premier Account This account will allow you to accept payments from balance transfers and credit cards. When you upgrade to a Premier Account, you will pay a small transaction fee on ALL payments you accept (yes, even the balance transfers that are free for the Personal Account.) You will also be able to send payments without incurring any fees. The Business Account This account is the same as the Premier Account, but allows you to have multiple users on your account. What You Need
Unfortunately, you need a Premier Account. Now-a-days, if you are going to be doing business online, you cannot afford to get away with the totally free account. Pay Pal will allow you to have both a Personal and a Premier account, but you need different email addresses and bank accounts associated with them. It used to be that people who accepted Pay Pal payments would just ask the buyer if they intended to use their Pay Pal funds or a credit card. The seller would then direct the buyer to the correct email address to avoid the fees, if possible. Now, it is simply unprofessional. Just get used to the idea of having your fees deducted from your payment and be done with it. Why do you need a PayPal Account?Signing up is fast, free and easy, They will ask you for your banking information. This is required and is safe for you to give them. If you are nervous about it, open a separate checking account at your bank for your online transactions. Leave PayPal Page and Return to B2B Resources Page |
