Hostess Party Games: Scavenger Hunt

Everyone loves a good scavenger hunt, so incorporate these hostess party games into your next direct sales home party. Give your hostess the instructions for the game while initially coaching her for her show.

Ask her who she knows. Use this list of 40 different types of people to get the gears in her head working. If she can have 10 people from the list show up at her party, then give her a special gift. Each guest can only count for one category.

  • THE 11 CHALLENGE

Another of the great hostess party games to play is a number challenge. Hold back an extra special prize (value over $20), and give it to the hostess if she can do all of these tasks.

  • Hold her party on the 11th of the Month
  • Have 11 or more guests in attendance
  • Have 11 paid outside orders
  • Sell 11 of any one item
  • Have $110 in orders before the party starts

  • Alternately, you can offer a smaller prize for each task she can complete. When playing these hostess party games, choose a less expensive add-on item for the “sell 11 of any one item” and have her ask with each outside purchase if they want one.

Free Home Party Games: Just Like My Hostess

This is another one of the hostess party games that can be tons of fun! Unlike the previous in home show party games, this one is designed to be played at direct sales home parties by stay at home mom businesses.

Give each guest an index card. Have them write down the first word that comes to mind as you call out the following words. At the end of the game, the guest who has matched the most answers with the hostess, wins!

These can be favorites, or just any word that pops into the guests head while playing hostess party games.

  • Hostess Party Games: Observation

hostess-party-games-03; guests at a direct sales home party This is a fun way to play hostess party games.

Have your home party hostess carry a tray of miscellaneous small household items (a fork, a paperclip, a comb, a q-tip, etc) around to each guest in the room.

You tell the guests to “pay attention” to the hostess.

This stunt is to distract the guests from the real purpose of the game.

Have the hostess carry her tray into another room, and then the fun starts!

Hand out an index card to every guest, and have them write down their answers to the following questions. The guest with the most correct answers wins!

  • What is the color of (HOSTESS'S) hair?
  • What color pants(skirt) is she wearing?
  • What color are her eyes?
  • Is she wearing sandals, sneakers, or heels?
  • Is she wearing a necklace?
  • Is she wearing a bracelet?
  • Are there any buttons on her outfit?
  • Is she wearing glasses?
  • How tall is she? (Within 1 inch)
  • Is she wearing earrings?
  • Is she wearing a watch?

  • Hostess Party Games: Call Ahead Games

The following hostess party games will need to be planned for in advance. These are the perfect in home show party games to use to have your home party hostess call to remind her guests to come.

Two days before the party starts, the home party hostess should phone each guest and remind her about the party, while asking her to bring a specific object (and a friend!) to the party.

For these hostess party games, the hostess should try and have extra supplies on hand to give to guests who've forgotten to bring their item to play the in home show party games.

    QUARTER RAFFLES
hostess-party-games-07; direct sales home party raffle ticket These great hostess party games require the home party hostess to ask her guests to bring several quarters.

In a bridal or baby shower party, these quarters can be given to the guest of honor.

In a typical party, you can use them for a local charity.

Have several items (under $10 retail value) available for your quarter raffles on a display table when guests arrive.

In front of each item will be a (Tupperware) bowl and raffle tickets (get a big roll of tickets at your local office supply store.)

Guests may purchase a ticket for a quarter, which goes into the bowl. They are free to pick out one item and donate as many quarters as they'd like, or spread out their money over several items. Alternately, they do not have to participate at all.

The tickets are in two parts, one part goes to the guest while the other part goes into the money bowl in front of the object the guest wants.

You can also give out tickets for things like every $10 spent, asking questions about your opportunity, or bonus tickets for dating a show (5 extra tickets, for example).

At the end of the show, do a raffle for each item. Winning ticket gets the item.

    THE NIGHTGOWN GAME

One of my favorite hostess party games is the nightgown game.

Have your hostess call her guests and ask them to bring what they wear to bed in a brown paper bag.

As the consultant, bring a large paper bag with you to the party, and as guests arrive, have the hostess bring their bags to another room and place their nightgowns in the larger bag so that no one else sees.

When it is time for the game, pass out index cards for the guests.

Hold up each garment one by one and have the guests write down who they think it belongs to.

At the end, the guest with the most right wins!

Hysterical in home show party games!!

    HOSTESS PARTY GAMES VARIATIONS

Similar hostess party games can be played with variations on the same theme. For example, instead of nightgowns, guests can bring a picture of their favorite movie star, or a picture of their pets. Maybe a baby picture if it's a baby shower.

If you're really daring it can be undies instead of a nightgown, or if its a kitchen show maybe their favorite kitchen gadget. Be creative with your hostess party games! The best free home party games are the ones you think of yourself.

  • TOILET PAPER GAME
These fun hostess party games require the hostess calling her party guests and asking them to bring...Toilet Paper. (Hostess party games don't get any sillier than this!) When they ask how much, she just needs to tell them “Whatever you think you will need.”

When they arrive, award points as follows:

  • Brought 10 sheets or less - 10 pts.
  • Brought a 4-pack - 50 pts.

    TIP:

Ask every hostess at the close of her show if she would like to get her regular hostess gifts or turn her party credit into cash and start her own business. You can apply her hostess gifts towards the price of the kit.
