She has a small filing cabinet in the front part of the shopping cart, where most people would place a young child. She has a cart overflowing with brand name groceries, and a stack of grocery shopping coupons 2 inches thick. It takes 20 minutes for the cashiers to ring her order, and invariably, management is called because of a register error. Yet, astonishingly, after all this hullabaloo, she walks out with the shopping cart full of hundreds of dollars of groceries for just a few dollar out of pocket.

If you ask them, they say that it takes too long to clip a grocery discount coupon out of the paper, and they believe its just not worth it. The following picture of my daughter was taken a couple years ago. Around her, you see the stockpile I created from just one month of grocery discount coupon shopping at just one store. All of the items pictured were totally free, and many the store paid me to take. (Yes, I said they paid me to take the merchandise out of the store.)

Remember, all of this merchandise was acquired from just one store, in one month. And this type of deal is not rare. Using free manufacturers coupons or an internet grocery coupon or two, deals like this are available every month. When one deal ends, an even better one begins. Since I began grocery discount coupon shopping in 2003, I have saved over $10,000. I have been able to stockpile food and other items for free, share surpluses with friends, neighbors and those in need, and even sell some of my extras for supplemental income for my family. And through it all, it has been a blast! I cannot describe the giddy feeling you get when you walk into a store and take home stuff for free! Its so much fun!
