Free Birthday Games – Unique Birthday Ideas

free website with jerky direct
Having free birthday games in mind for your kid's birthday parties can ensure that your celebration is a success.

This page will go over some classic unique birthday ideas to save you money, including ideas for cheap party games that you can introduce to your guests.

Why Play Games

When coming up with unique birthday ideas, games should definitely be at the top of your list. Free birthday games or even cheap birthday games can make the difference between a good party and a great one. Games serve the purpose of entertaining your guests (and also as a way to control them and minimize the mayhem).

And let's not forget the added bonus of the kids burning off the energy from the birthday cake and ice cream.

Mission Accomplished?

When coming up with games to play at birthday parties, you have a couple of goals. First, you want them to be something that everyone (or nearly everyone) can participate in.

You want everyone to have fun and to enjoy themselves. You want them to be quick to set up and easy to play.

Complicated games are likely to fall flat with your guests, especially if they spend a lot of time trying to figure out the rules. You also probably want them to be affordable.

Everyone Wins

As with most things you plan for kids, the focus of party games should be on the process, not the product. What I mean is that you should not focus so much on the competition as you do on the fact that everyone is enjoying themselves.

Although prizes can be rewarded, perhaps you can award several prizes or even let everyone choose their own prize. You don't want anyone to feel left out.

Below is a list of free birthday games and cheap party games that you can play at your child's next birthday party.

Balloon Pop Relay- Divide your party guests into teams and have each team stand in a line on one side of the room or yard. On the other side have a basket of balloons for each team (one balloon for each person on the team).

On your signal, the first person from each team has to run to the basket, grab a balloon and pop it by sitting on it, then run back and tag the next person on their team who does the same thing. The first team to pop all of their balloons wins.

Bean Bag Toss- Prepare boxes ahead of time that are either different sizes or set up at different distances. Each box can be worth a different amount of points based on the difficulty. The goal is to toss the beanbag into the boxes. The person or team with the most points after a round of tossing wins.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey- Have a large picture of a tail-less donkey hanging on the wall. Give the child the tail with a piece of tape or tacky glue on the back of it. Either instruct the child to close their eyes or blindfold them. Depending on their age, you can spin them around and tell them to try to pin the tail on the donkey without looking. The person that gets the closest to pinning the tail on properly wins. This can be modified to fit several themes (pin the tail on the lion, pin the crown on the princess, etc.)

Charades- Prepare slips of paper ahead of time with things that the kids can act out written on them. Increase the difficulty for older crowds. Put the kids in teams and each child gets the chance to act a clue out. The team with the most correct guesses wins.

Scavenger Hunt- Create a list of things that the kids need to find around the house or wherever the party is being held. The list can be straightforward or in riddle format. The person or team to find everything first wins.

Tug Of War- Separate the party guests into two teams. The two teams hold on to either side of a rope and try to pull each other over a designated line.

Water Balloon Toss- Separate the party guests into teams of two and have them stand facing one another about an arm's length away. Give each team one balloon to toss between them. For each completed toss, they take one step further away from each other. If the balloon pops, that team is eliminated. The last team with an unpopped balloon wins.

These are just a few classic cheap party games and free birthday games that you can play. Think back to the games that you played as kids that didn't require more than good friends and a few things you could find around the house. Hopefully you now have some unique birthday ideas to help make your next birthday party a fun and frugal one.
