Get Inexpensive Food without Income Qualifications
Discount on food.
Did you know that there are places you can go every
month to get a great food discounts?
These different
organizations exist to help regular, middle class people, and are not
limited to the low income folks.
Angel
Food Ministries

Angel Food Ministries is a wonderful
faith-based organization.
This ministry, run out of
churches
nationwide, is dedicated to helping the regular American
family with their grocery budget.
They provide a box
of
restaurant quality meats, fresh foods, and
staples, worth $50-75 (depending on the area) for only $25.
This
is done
once a month, and you
must order and pay in advance.
You
will get things like roasts, chicken strips, ground beef, sausage,
eggs, apples, canned fruit, rice, muffin mix, dessert, potatoes, etc.
This
is
not an
income-qualify
thing, meaning you do not have to make a certain amount of income or
less every month in order to be able to get these boxes. This is for
regular, every day people. (Though I do believe most locations do offer
the option of paying in food stamps, if needed.)
They
also offer
bonus items
each month. For an additional fee, provided you have purchased a box,
you are able to add on things like steaks, chicken strips, and (my
favorite)
Hot Pockets. These
bonus items vary each month, and at Christmas there are more bonus
items.
This is a Christian based ministry, and you
will be picking up your food from a church, usually on a Saturday
morning.
I have participated in Angel Food
Ministries for about two years now, in a few different towns.

SHARE

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the SHARE
organization.
Similar to
Angel Food
Ministries, SHARE provides a discount on food, approximately
50%, on specific items.
Again,
that would be
staples, fresh foods, and meats.There
are no income qualifications.
Unlike Angel Food
Ministries, SHARE asks that you donate your
time to
community
service
efforts in order to receive your discount on food. This is a good
thing, and something that I think
every family
should be doing. I have not
personally participated in the SHARE program as of yet. I did locate the
Florida SHARE Organization and will be participating soon, so
that I can relate my experiences to you.
One thing I
did notice, the different SHARE chapters throughout the country do
not
have one website (that I could find). Instead, each state and in some
cases each county in a state, has its own site. I’m sure their rules
and regulations vary as well.
You’ll need to do a
Google Search to find your host site. (bottom of this page)
Definitely
worth looking into!
These groups exist to give you
a
discount on food to help you out. They are great organizations that are
much needed in this country.
Here are some other ways
to save on food expenses.
