These simple, frugal recipes for chicken thighs are sure to please your family's tastebuds and your wallets. Chicken thighs are extremely versatile and because they remain on the bone, they are more moist and flavorful than their boneless counterparts.

They are also extremely versatile and easy to cook so there are a wide variety of recipes for chicken thighs that you can try out.

Chicken thighs are great for people who love using their slow cookers or crock pots. They can also be grilled, roasted, fried, baked, or broiled.

Even after reheating, chicken thighs retain their moisture and their flavor. Chicken thighs are, admittedly, higher in calories and fat, but you can easily cut back on the fat by peeling off the skin.

You can also save the bones from the chicken thighs to make your own chicken stock.

Chicken Thighs Recipe #1: Chicken Thighs in Red Wine Vinegar

This first recipe for chicken thighs utilizes some basic ingredients:
  • 4 skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth (learn how to make homemade chicken broth)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon of butter
  • 1/2 onion, sliced into thin pieces
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of white wine
  • 1 tablespoon of sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon of parsley
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions:
Pat the chicken dry with a clean towel and season it to taste with salt and pepper.

In a separate bowl, mix together the red wine vinegar, the chicken broth, the honey, and the tomato paste. Pour it into a skillet and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes before r1emoving it from heat.

Melt the butter in a skillet and place the chicken n the skillet, browning it on both sides. This will take about six to eight minutes for each side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until brown and tender.

Return the chicken to the skillet and drizzle it with the red wine vinegar sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and let simmer for twenty minutes.

Remove the chicken and set aside. Add the sour cream to the sauce and stir until thickened. Serve on top of the chicken.


Chicken Thighs Recipe #2: Deviled Chicken Thighs

In this next recipe chicken thighs is paired with two common household staples: Dijon mustard and Tabasco sauce.
  • 4 Chicken thighs
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup of diced onions
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • Olive or Vegetable oil
Instructions:
Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Heat oil in a skillet and brown chicken on both sides.

In the meantime, combine the mustard, onions and Tabasco sauce in a food processor and blend it into a paste. Spread two tablespoons of the mixture on the bottom of the chicken and place in the preheated broiler for about five minutes. Then flip the chicken over and spread two tablespoon of the mixture on the skin side.

Continue to broil for about five minutes or until the mustard mix begins to brown. Make sure to cook the chicken all the way through before serving. Enjoy!


Chicken Thighs Recipe #3: Triple M Roasted Chicken

In this next recipe chicken thighs are cooked with mustard, maple syrup, and molasses for a flavor that is sweet and spicy. It is also a very simple and quick recipe.
  • 4 chicken thighs, skin removed
  • 1/4 cup of spicy brown mustard
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
Instructions:
First, be sure to preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Place the skinless chicken thighs on a baking sheet.

In a bowl, combine the mustard maple syrup, and molasses into a thick sauce. Spread the sauce on the top of each chicken thigh. You will probably want to do this with a spoon, rather than a meat brush since the sauce will be pretty thick.

Bake in the oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Enjoy!
