Cheapo Right Here!

by Tessa
(Orlando, Florida)

My husband and I are into doing little things (everything helps) we can to help save our planet. In doing this we are also saving money. These are some of the ways we pinch pennies:

o. We use a lot of candlelight.
It makes us all look pretty and we use less electricity.

o. We reuse all the plastic and paper grocery bags from the grocery store.
We use them for garbage bags, garbage cans in the bathroom and they work great for picking up pet messes too.

o. I save the little honey jars ( ya know the ones that look like bears) and I fill them with all the last drippings of shampoo or conditioner.
Before you know it you have a brand new and cute bottle of shampoo or conditioner.

o. My husband travels a lot and he saves me all the hotel soaps, shampoos ,conditioners, and mouth and body washes.
Not only can I use them when I'm running low on the store bought stuff but we also like to make all our overnight guests little care packages.

o. We water down our orange juice in the mornings.
A little water goes a long way to make it last longer and taste better.

o. We buy generic cereals.
They taste just as good and you get twice as much for half the price.

o. One word...Leftovers!
Freeze them and you can mix and match them again for new recipes. Waste not, want not.

Cheap can be fun...so be creative!

Great Ideas, Tessa!

Tessa, those are some great ideas you have! I can just imagine the little smiling honey bear jar looking at you in your shower! And candlelight sounds so romantic!
