Discount Baby ItemsBuy Only What You Need and Save!Baby items. I love talking about babies and baby things! It seems these days that moms spend way to much money on baby things. Ok, I know how tempting it is, but spending useless amounts of money on things you simply will not use is not cute and fun, its depressing. It is unreal the amount of
products on the market today to take care of babies. There is no reason for it to be so expensive to have a new baby. They do not need all these advertised baby items. Things like those light-up fish bowls you put in the crib, or the dozens of little hand-held toys you give Junior before he can even make a fist. If this is your first baby, you might want to re-think some of the necessities in your budget. Blankets You will get way too many of these. Don't personally buy any. Family and friends will supply more than you could possibly use. Baby Clothes Again, don't buy ANY. You will be given more clothes that your baby can possibly use. Stock Up On Good items to have:
Baby Towels and Washcloths While these have an aesthetic appeal, you really don't need them. Use regular adult towels and washcloths if you are on a tight budget. Though, I will admit, I really liked the ones that I had for my munchkins. I bought mine on eBay. Crib/Bassinet Save some money on baby items. Don't buy both a crib and a bassinet. A crib alone will do fine. Changing Table I personally hated my changing table, and apparently I'm not unique. It was much easier (especially after I had my second child) to just change the baby on the floor. I had a little crate with diapers and wipes in it. Baby Bath Tub I found it difficult to reach over the side of the tub to wash the baby. By the time my second was born, I had abandoned the baby bath tub altogether and actually just climbed in and took a bath with the baby. Another alternative: just use the sink. Playpen Never used one. Really. Baby Water or Laundry Soap I never really got into this. First off, I don't agree with adding anything to water, and as far as the laundry soap goes, I would much rather use an all natural soap than a special chemical filled one with a baby scent. Save your money. Burp Cloths One thing I did like was using cloth diapers as baby burping cloths. Just regular flat baby diapers you can buy at any discount store will work.
