4-Year Old Warms Gum in Mystery Pocket

One Christmas I was shopping for some small presents to kind of round out the gift list for the little ones. I saw what I thought was the perfect gift and a way for the kids to get some sweets and save their money; a gumball machine.

When my son Matt opened the gift he was ecstatic! He was only four at the time and had also just got some under-roos (batman big boy underwear).

Later that day all of our family came over to celebrate and have a Christmas dinner. All of the aunts, uncles, and cousins were in attendance. Very proud of his new gumball machine, Matt ran around all day offering a piece to his relatives putting a smile on everyone’s face.

Well; after a while someone said the gum felt warm, others agreed, but this was discounted as being a result of Matt’s warm hands. It was not until later that we all got the real answer for the mysteriously warm gumballs......

After accepting a piece of gum, Aunt Sarah asked Matt why in the world the gum was so warm. Matt proudly proclaimed that he had been keeping it warm for everyone in his pocket. It took a second, but Sarah finally retorted, “but you’re not wearing any pants and have no pockets!"

Matt explained, “I am keeping everyone’s gum warm in my front pocket of my new big boy underwear!”
